CONFLICT RESOLUTION
SAGF conducted VSLA training
of 1,000 selected beneficiaries in Ilela and Jibia. Thereafter, VSLAs were
formed and 200 VSLA Group members were provided with empowerment start-up. In each of the LGAs (Ilela and Jibia),
beneficiaries were empowered with 8 grinding machines, 50 sacks of soybeans and
50 sacks of groundnut as start-up for their businesses.
It is vital to mention
that, the occasion in Ilela were graced by the Illela Local Government
Chairman, Councils, all the six Directors in the LGA, 3 Districts Heads, 6
Village Heads. In Jibia, The event was attended by Hon. Bishir Sabiu Maitan,
Chairman of Jibia Local Government; Dr. Suleiman Bello Jibia, District Head of
Jibia; Alhaji Rabe Rabiu Jibia, Special Adviser to the Governor on Livestock
and Grazing; Hon Yusuf Suleiman Jibia.
While the District Head encouraged the community to responsibly use the
resources to foster economic growth; the Chairman of Jibia LGA expressed his
heartfelt happiness regarding the initiative and pledged his unwavering support
for future endeavors. He promised to provide additional assistance, including
apprenticeship opportunities for the beneficiaries.
Additionally, to foster social and community cohesion, members of different political parties and religious groups from Jibia and Ilela were also present to grace the occasion. The religious leaders pledged commitment to supporting the initiative by enlightening beneficiaries on how to effectively utilize their materials since they attended the empowerment activities. Media stations at the event were NTA news, Alu TV, Daily news, journalists and cameramen.
